Fugitive Royce Lee Jarnagin Arrested

On May 22nd, 2023, The Grady County Sheriff's Office received information that Royce Lee Jarnagin was located as a residence at 1525 South 20th Street in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Royce Jarnagin was the #1 most wanted fugitive on Grady County's most wanted list.

Deputies knew that Jarnagin had two outstanding felony warrants through Grady County. Deputies received confirmation from a cooperating subject that Jarnagin was located inside the residence. Grady County Deputies set up around the residence. After a perimeter was established, Deputies entered the residence with the homeowner's permission and located Jernigan inside (kitchen area). Jarnigin was placed in custody without incident and transported to the Grady County Detention Center.

After being on the run for several years, Grady County Deputies took one of the most wanted fugitives off the street.

Dispatcher Appreciation Week April 14th to 20th 2024

4/15/2024 - Dispatcher appreciation week is celebrated annually in the United States to recognize the invaluable work of 9-1-1 dispatchers nationwide. This celebration started in 1981 at the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office in California and is now recognized across the whole United States. Last year the Grady County Dispatch Center received a total of 38,107 9-1-1 calls, logged 54,302 Law Enforcement Calls for Service, and logged 8,372 Fire and EMC calls for service. These are only a few of the many responsibilities that our dispatchers do on a daily basis to serve the citizens and visitors of Grady County. The Grady County Dispatch Center is responsible for all Grady County Sheriff's Office calls, All County Fire and EMS calls and to assist with calls inside the City Limits of Chickasha when requested. Grady County Dispatch Center is the heart of our daily operation. A dispatcher job is a very stressful position because, Our Citizens lives depend on them and so does Our Deputies, Fire Fighters and EMS personal.
